In this session, an overview and activities of the phase II-A of the UNEP Iraqi Marshlands project supported by the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land, and Sea, were presented. Representatives from Iraqi Ministries presented activities supported by the project and impacts so far. Discussions followed.

In this session, related on-going and planned initiatives were presented and discussed, focusing on Italian-supported activities. Discussions focused on the status of the Marshland Masterplan Implementation, and how to utilize the results of the project for such implementation, and what additional work is needed.
